Industrial Visit to BPCL Bottling Plant


An industrial visit to Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited Piyala Bottling Plant was organized by Delhi School of Management for students of MBA 1st year on Jan 20, 2016. Faculty coordinator Dr. Shikha Khera accompanied the students for the visit.


Mr. Rohit Shetty, Area Sales Manager welcomed the Delhi School of Management team. Thereafter, Mr. Shukla, Production Manager took over and gave a presentation about the hierarchy of BPCL and briefed about the bottling plant process flow, the quality checks and the safety protocols. He also talked about how their plant was the first plant in BPCL to be working 7 days a week using the concept of shift rotation and weekly off for the workers. After the presentation, the Delhi School of Management team was taken for the site visit by the plant engineer. It was a great learning experience for the future technomanagers as the site engineer briefed about the gas filling stations and quality checks in the process. Thereafter, the territory manager had a brief session with the Delhi School of Management team. He also appreciated the efforts put in by Delhi School of Management team that did internship with them whose report titled “Study on Launch of 5 kg and smaller capacity LPG cylinders by BPCL in the Indian Market.” Had been forwarded to the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.


In the end, the Delhi School of Management team was made to take an oath "Eendhan Bachaao" and join BPCL in their save fuel campaign. Overall it was a complete knowledge enriching and delightful experience.
